2020 Proposed Bylaws Changes

Your eBUG officers propose the following amendments to the current bylaws (last updated on 2016) to allow for a virtual voting and added a clause in the event of a vacancy of an officer. We ask the eBUG community members to carefully read the proposed changes and vote on the suggested bylaw amendments in the upcoming virtual meeting at 11am (CST) on September 25, 2020.

Article 8 ELECTIONS AND TERMS OF OFFICE

Current:

ELECTIONS: Elections shall be conducted annually by a simple majority vote of members present. The Officers shall present candidate(s) to the membership with further nominations open from the floor with the consent of the nominee.


Proposed:

ELECTIONS: Elections shall by conducted annually by a simple majority vote of members present submitting their ballot, either in person or electronically. The officers shall present candidate(s) to the membership with further nominations open from the floor with the consent of the nominee.

If no candidates applied before the election, the write-in votes will be counted in the election.

If no candidates and no write-in votes, the incumbent officers shall continue in their respective offices until their successors are elected or appointed.
